One Village Transformed (OVT) Mani

Chad is facing high levels of food insecurity, malnutrition and critical gaps in the provision of basic social services such as education, health, water and social protection. Chad is among the most vulnerable countries in the world in terms of climate change because of the fact that it is facing rapid desertification, soil erosion and natural disasters. Malnutrition is thought to be associated with a high proportion of infant mortality, which is very high in Chad. World Concern will aim to create sustainable solutions with these and for these communities through holistic development in the implementation of participatory and inclusive community approaches. Creative local coping strategies will be explored to aim at transformational development through many components, such as: community engagement/empowerment, access to safe drinking water, improved agricultural techniques/productivity, livestock, improved fishing activity, sanitation, maternal/child health and nutrition, disaster prevention, basic education and literacy.
